The instant I saw the machine not working I felt some chills.

Cause I just remember that one case online where a woman was found in a hotel's water reservoir on the roof and the way they figured out someone was in there was because people were turning the water on and it was black but would run clear after a bit.

That crap is horrible. Goddamn but this filler is actually pretty damn good. Moment I saw blood in the cream yep, that just about parallels that other thing.

This episode reminds me of many of the good old episodes that were technically filler episodes because wasnt related to the main plot progress, but was in the manga. Can't wait for next week's episode.

Motive,
Girl: when Conan asks her, what is that she loves the most in next episode preview? Could be her father death, due to some past circumstances, might be a reason.
Butler: could be the same or that the eldest stole his idea of soft serve.
The eldest son: Money, till this point.
The father: None so far

Method: The temperature of the dispenser machine in each room could be controlled via the control panel or, wink the remote that the father has. Signs on the inside of the door frame and the sticky keyhole (might be because of gluten in ice-cream) and last but not the least the black fragments. All of these points to the trick that might have been used to lock the room from outside. Also, remember that door could be opened from inside without a key.

Death: Pure assumption, Some ingredient used in soft serve, as no signs of strangulations shown on any body part and the gas filling up the room at night accompanied by the strange sound. More info needed. But yeah brace yourself for some scientific explanation.

Miscellaneous observations: the badge on the coat of butler, the middle son and girl, the room layout, the secretive odd phone call by the youngest son, butler keeping a track of each son, contract stating not to involve the police (but why? did they know this was going to happen), talking through a monitor at dinner table (just seems out of place), the opening of the episode, the father was telling his three kids something.
